Moscow: Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that it is too early to assume the conflict in Ukraine is close to being resolved. Moscow does not share claims that the sides are nearing a peace agreement.

According to Anadolu Agency, Peskov addressed reporters in Bishkek, responding to assertions that the parties had never been so close to concluding a deal. He indicated that the state-run Tass news agency had reported his comments, emphasizing caution in predicting the conflict's resolution.

Furthermore, Peskov mentioned that the Kremlin will announce details after finalizing the timing of contacts with US Presidential Special Envoy Steven Witkoff. Washington has signaled its intention to send Witkoff to Moscow, and Peskov assured that information would be shared once arrangements are made.

Peskov also cautioned against overestimating the significance of leaked Russian-US telephone conversations circulating online. He noted that these publications appear to aim at disrupting ongoing diplomatic efforts. Peskov remarked that many individuals in various countries, including the United States, might attempt to disrupt peaceful developments.

Additionally, Peskov noted that there have been no new developments in Russia-US interaction at the leadership level beyond President Trump's stated intention to send Witkoff to Moscow. Earlier, US President Donald Trump suggested that positive developments might be occurring in Russia-Ukraine contacts, although Washington's emerging proposal remains under discussion.
