Moscow: The Kremlin announced its willingness to assist Iran in removing excess nuclear fuel if it is deemed necessary by the involved parties. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov addressed journalists during a briefing, revealing that Russia is prepared to provide such services if required.

According to Anadolu Agency, Peskov confirmed that Russia maintains constant communication with Iran and that the topic was discussed during a recent phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump. The call, which took place last Wednesday, involved discussions on various international issues, with a particular focus on the stalled negotiations between Iran and the US regarding Tehran's nuclear program.

Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov mentioned that the Putin-Trump conversation included a spotlight on the ongoing discussions between Iran and the US. Meanwhile, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov emphasized Moscow's readiness to assist in addressing the issue both politically and practically. He highlighted that efforts must be intensified to reach a partial solution to the challenges posed by the sanctions regime and the objections raised against Iran.

Since April, Tehran and Washington have participated in five rounds of indirect nuclear negotiations in Muscat and Rome, mediated by Oman. Although some progress has been acknowledged by both sides, a decisive breakthrough remains elusive. The talks are complicated by the US's demand for Iran to dismantle its uranium enrichment program, a condition Iranian officials have labeled as non-negotiable. President Trump has also threatened military action if a new nuclear agreement is not established to replace the 2015 nuclear deal, from which the US withdrew in 2018.
