Brussels: Kuwait announced on Saturday that firefighters successfully contained five blazes that were ignited by Iranian attacks. These included fires at two targeted sites and three residential areas.

According to Anadolu Agency, Fire Force spokesman Mohammad Ibrahim stated that five firefighting teams, with support from oil sector crews, managed to extinguish the blaze at the first site. Meanwhile, three teams addressed the fire at the second location. The first site faced a secondary strike during the firefighting efforts, resulting in injuries to several firefighters and an oil-sector worker. These individuals received first aid before being transported to a hospital, though details on their number or the severity of their injuries were not disclosed.

Additionally, firefighters managed to control three separate fires in residential areas caused by falling shrapnel. These incidents resulted in material damage but no casualties, as per the statement.

The incidents occur amidst ongoing tensions, with the US conducting successive strikes on sites within Iran over the past week. In retaliation, Tehran has targeted facilities and bases it claims are utilized by the US military in various countries in the region, including Kuwait.
