Kuwait city: Kuwaiti authorities announced that security forces have successfully thwarted a terrorist plot aimed at a significant facility and apprehended a Kuwaiti national linked to the ISIS (Daesh) terror group before the plan could be executed.

According to Anadolu Agency, an Interior Ministry statement revealed that the State Security Service uncovered the plot after thorough monitoring and surveillance. Investigations disclosed that the suspect had been trained in explosives and drone manufacturing and had constructed a drone intended for deployment in an attack on a vital facility. The ministry did not specify the intended target location.

Legal procedures have been initiated against the suspect, who has been referred to the relevant authorities for further investigation and action in accordance with the law. The Interior Ministry emphasized that its security agencies will maintain proactive measures to identify and neutralize activities or plots that pose a threat to Kuwait's security and stability.

The ministry asserted its commitment to taking a firm stance against individuals attempting to jeopardize the country's security or the safety of its citizens and residents. It pledged to handle any suspicious activities decisively and within the framework of the law.
