According to Anadolu Agency, the developments in Kuwait occurred alongside heightened security measures in neighboring Bahrain, where the Interior Ministry activated warning sirens across the country. The situation unfolded following a statement from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which claimed responsibility for a drone attack targeting the Ali Al Salem base in Kuwait. The attack was described as a response to what the IRGC termed American aggression.

In addition to the attack on Kuwaiti soil, the IRGC announced it had launched an attack on the US Fifth Fleet located in Bahrain. These actions were reportedly in retaliation for US military strikes on southern Iran earlier on Wednesday.
