Kuwait city: Kuwaiti air defense systems intercepted nine ballistic missiles and four drones in the last 24 hours, the country's army said on Saturday. The air defense systems "successfully intercepted and dealt with them," the Kuwaiti army announced on US social media company X, referencing Colonel Saud al-Atwan, a spokesman for the Defense Ministry.

According to Anadolu Agency, the army expressed its "full readiness" to protect the nation's security and sovereignty amid escalating tensions in the region. The interceptions come in the wake of US-Israeli strikes on Iran that began on February 28, which have led to Tehran retaliating with repeated drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
