Kuwait city: Kuwait is responding to the third wave of missile and drone attacks amid an ongoing regional escalation, the Kuwaiti army said on Friday.
According to Anadolu Agency, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces confirmed that any explosions that may be heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile targets. The army communicated this information via a post on the social media platform X. Citizens have been urged to adhere to security and safety instructions issued by Kuwaiti authorities.
The escalation in hostilities follows joint attacks launched by Israel and the US on Iran on February 28, which resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has conducted drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
