Kuwait’s National Guard Site and Vital Facilities Targeted by ‘Hostile’ Drones

Kuwait city: Kuwait announced Thursday evening that a National Guard site and several vital facilities were targeted by ‘hostile’ drones. National Guard spokesperson Brig. Gen. Dr. Jad’an Fadel stated that one of their sites sustained significant material damage due to the drone strikes, as reported by the state news agency KUNA. Despite the damage, no casualties were reported in the attack.

According to Anadolu Agency, the spokesperson mentioned that authorities swiftly initiated ‘the necessary security and field measures’ to address the situation. Earlier, the Kuwaiti army indicated that air defenses were actively dealing with drone attacks that breached the country’s airspace, targeting several vital facilities. However, further details regarding the attacks were not disclosed.

This incident followed shortly after the Kuwaiti army’s previous statement, which noted no operational developments over the past 24 hours. The escalation in regional tensions is linked to the recent US and Israel joint offensive on Iran on February 28, resulting in the deaths of over 3,000 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran has carried out drone and missile strikes against Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, while also restricting ship movement through the Strait of Hormuz.
