Ya'an: At least three individuals lost their lives, and two more remain missing following a landslide in Ya'an, Sichuan province in southwestern China. Their vehicles were engulfed by a mountain landslide, as reported by state media on Monday. Two additional people sustained minor injuries in the incident.

According to Anadolu Agency, search and rescue operations are currently underway to locate the missing individuals. Meanwhile, in a precautionary measure, all passenger shipping routes in the waters of East China's Zhejiang province have been suspended. The local maritime bureau has initiated a level II emergency response in anticipation of an impending typhoon.

China's National Meteorological Center issued a yellow level warning for Typhoon Danas on Monday morning. The typhoon made landfall in Taiwan around midnight and is projected to reach the coastal regions of East China's Zhejiang and Fujian provinces by Tuesday.

Construction at wind farms has been halted, and all wind power construction vessels have been relocated to safer waters. Upon reaching Taiwan, Typhoon Danas weakened from a severe typhoon to a typhoon, with maximum sustained winds near its center measuring approximately 40 meters (131 feet) per second, according to the National Meteorological Center.

Danas is anticipated to hit the coastal zones from Zhejiang's Taizhou to Fuzhou in East China's Fujian province from Tuesday afternoon into the evening. The typhoon is expected to result in heavy to torrential rainfall across parts of Zhejiang and Taiwan, with extremely heavy rainfall predicted in localized areas, as per the meteorological bureau.
