Beirut: The Lebanese Army announced that two soldiers were killed in separate Israeli airstrikes in eastern and southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours, marking yet another breach of the ceasefire agreement by Israel.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Lebanese Army disclosed on the US social media platform X that a military unit recovered the body of a soldier killed on Tuesday in an Israeli airstrike near Qaraoun Lake Dam in eastern Lebanon's western Bekaa region. The area was subjected to multiple airstrikes, resulting in the death of the soldier and several paramedics on a mission to evacuate him.
Additionally, the army reported that another soldier was killed in a separate Israeli airstrike on the Kfarman-Khardali road, linking the town of Kfarman in Nabatieh to the Khardali area in southern Lebanon. This underscores the ongoing tension and violence despite the US-mediated ceasefire agreement.
In a series of intensive airstrikes since March 2, the Israeli army has caused the deaths of at least 3,269 people, based on official Lebanese statistics. These strikes continue in defiance of the ceasefire, which was initially implemented on April 17 and extended through early July.
