Beirut: Another Lebanese soldier has died from injuries sustained in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese army announced on Wednesday. The attack targeted an army vehicle traveling on the Borj al-Moulouk-Qlayaa road, marking another fatal incident in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Lebanon. According to Anadolu Agency, a military statement confirmed the soldier's death, noting that he was one of two soldiers injured in the recent attack. This tragic event comes on the heels of another strike that resulted in the deaths of three Lebanese soldiers at a military post in the Sarafand village, also in southern Lebanon. The death toll among Lebanese soldiers continues to rise, with nearly 40 soldiers killed in Israeli attacks since October 2023. The escalation of violence is part of a broader conflict, with Israel conducting airstrikes against what it claims are Hezbollah targets in Lebanon since late September. The humanitarian impact has been severe, with Lebanese health authorities r eporting more than 3,540 fatalities, over 15,000 injuries, and the displacement of over a million people due to the ongoing hostilities. The conflict escalated further when Tel Aviv launched a ground assault into southern Lebanon on October 1, intensifying the already dire situation.
