Leicester City Legend Jamie Vardy to Leave Club

Leicester: Jamie Vardy, the legendary striker at English Premier League team Leicester City, is leaving the club.

According to Anadolu Agency, a statement on the club's website Thursday announced that the veteran player, who has scored 198 goals in 498 appearances over 13 seasons, will depart at the end of the current season.

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Leicester City's chair, emphasized the 38-year-old's unique position at the club. He expressed that Jamie Vardy is not only a special player but also an exceptional person, holding a significant place in the hearts of everyone connected to Leicester City. Srivaddhanaprabha voiced his deep respect and affection for Vardy and conveyed his immense gratitude for everything Vardy has contributed to the club.

Vardy played a crucial role in Leicester City's achievements, notably during their remarkable triumph in the 2015-16 season when they secured their first and only Premier League title in the club's 131-year history. He also contributed to the club's victory in the FA Cup during the 2020-21 season.

Leicester City recently faced a setback, losing 1-0 to Liverpool on Sunday, which has positioned them for relegation from the Premier League at the season's end.
