Lufthansa Plans to Cut 4,000 Administrative Jobs by 2030

Berlin: Lufthansa will cut 4,000 administrative jobs, the German flag carrier announced Monday, as it seeks to enhance efficiency through digitalization and automation. In a statement, the Lufthansa Group said that the majority of the layoffs will be in Germany.

According to Anadolu Agency, the firm stated that it will make 'significant investments' and comprehensive adjustments in 2025 and the coming years, focusing on fleet renewal and future programs. As part of these investments, Lufthansa plans to purchase 230 new aircraft over the same period, including 100 long-haul aircraft.

The company aims to achieve more than £2.5 billion ($2.9 billion) in adjusted free cash flow per year between 2028 and 2030. "Financial strength will continue to be the basis for achieving the financial targets," the company added.
