Minsk: Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has extended an invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Minsk, expressing confidence that the Belarusian people would warmly welcome the Indian leader.

According to Anadolu Agency, Lukashenko made the invitation during a meeting with Indian Ambassador Ashok Kumar, as reported by the presidential press service. Lukashenko stated, "We would be delighted to welcome Prime Minister Modi to Belarus. We are always ready to receive him and look forward to his visit."

Lukashenko further mentioned that he has developed a "very warm and cordial relationship" with Modi, maintaining regular contact at international platforms. Their recent interaction took place at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meetings in China.

Additionally, Lukashenko expressed Belarus' readiness to assist India during its 2026 BRICS chairmanship. He pledged to work with India to ensure the success of its leadership, while also expressing gratitude for New Delhi's support of Minsk's participation in both the SCO and BRICS.
