Paris:French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged France's unwavering support for Ukraine, promising aid to help Kyiv intercept drones. This commitment followed a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to Anadolu Agency, Macron expressed France's solidarity with Ukraine in its defense against Russia's military actions. He criticized Russia for intensifying attacks on infrastructure and civilian areas, violating international humanitarian law, and refusing ceasefire calls.
Macron emphasized that both France and Europe are committed to supporting Ukraine, seeking to protect civilians, reduce hostilities, and promote a just and lasting peace. During their discussion, Macron and Zelenskyy talked about specific support to help Ukraine counter drone attacks and resist Russian aggression.
Zelenskyy announced that new defense deliveries are in preparation, with Ukrainian pilots set to begin training on French Rafale aircraft in France. He expressed gratitude for France's support and mentioned ongoing efforts to localize the production of French missiles and aerial bombs in Ukraine, alongside preparations for the FREYJA system.
