Magnitude 5.2 Earthquake Hits China’s Xinjiang Region, No Immediate Damage Reported

Urumqi: A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region on Thursday, the US Geological Survey said. The quake occurred 62 kilometers southeast of Urumqi, the regional capital, at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers.

According to Anadolu Agency, the earthquake struck at 0739 GMT. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage in the area following the seismic event. The region, known for its seismic activity, continues to be monitored for any aftershocks or delayed impacts.
