Kuala lumpur: Malaysia stated that it is equipped to manage any "threats" associated with its pro-Palestine position, as reported by state media. Deputy Foreign Minister Mohamad Alamin emphasized that Malaysia's long-standing position on Palestine is rooted in humanitarian principles rather than religious beliefs.

According to Anadolu Agency, Mohamad Alamin addressed concerns about potential economic marginalization by pro-Israel nations, affirming that Malaysia has persistently supported Palestinians across all international forums and will continue to do so. He highlighted that while the Middle East's uncertainties impact regional and global stability, they also pose implications for Malaysia's economic interests, trade, energy, and the safety of Malaysians in the region.

Mohamad further explained that Malaysia's foreign policy in the Middle East is comprehensive and pragmatic, focusing on diplomacy and collaboration with countries like Jordan, Egypt, Trkiye, and Qatar to peacefully resolve disputes. Meanwhile, Israel's military actions have resulted in the deaths of over 62,700 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023, leading to severe devastation and famine in the enclave.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice concerning its actions in the region.
