Malaysian Premier Hopes Trump’s Victory Will End Gaza, Ukraine Conflicts.

Dateline: Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Thursday expressed hope that US President-elect Donald Trump's victory will bring positive changes in geopolitics, particularly to end the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, state news agency Bernama reported. According to Anadolu Agency, Anwar stated his willingness to support any positive stance by the United States towards peace. He emphasized the importance of halting Israel's violent attacks on Gaza and recognizing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. The prime minister made these remarks during a press conference in Beijing, where he is currently on a four-day working visit. Anwar also expressed optimism that Trump could find a path to reconciliation in the Ukraine conflict, which would be a significant step in addressing global economic challenges. Trump's return to the US presidency, after defeating Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris with 295 Electoral College votes, marks a pivotal moment in international r elations. Furthermore, Anwar announced his intention to invite Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend the ASEAN summit and the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council Plus China summit in Kuala Lumpur next year. Malaysia is set to assume the ASEAN chairmanship starting January 1, 2025.
