ISTANBUL: Mastercard is planning to lower its global workforce by 3%, according to media reports Friday. The US-based multinational payment card services company had around 33,400 employees worldwide by the end of 2023, according to its latest annual financial report. Of those, approximately 67% were located outside of the US in more than 80 countries. The move is estimated to affect 1,000 employees. Most layoff notifications are expected to be completed by Sept. 30, according to reports. Source: Anadolu Agency
