Meta Announces $95 Billion Financing Plan to Boost AI Investments

Menlo Park:US tech giant Meta Platforms has announced a comprehensive financing plan totaling approximately $95 billion to bolster its investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure and personal superintelligence.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the financing plan includes $35 billion in concurrent underwritten public offerings that were launched on Monday, along with a future $60 billion at-the-market equity program. The initial $35 billion public offerings comprise $22.5 billion in Class A common stock under forward sale agreements and $12.5 billion in series A depositary shares representing mandatory convertible preferred stock.

Meta plans to initiate the $60 billion at-the-market program in the first quarter of 2027, contingent on the commencement of trading its previously announced Class C common stock. The company also plans to provide underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 37.5 million depositary shares and $3.375 billion in additional Class A common stock.

Prominent chipmakers, including Nvidia, Advanced Micro Devices, and Broadcom, have expressed non-binding interest in participating as cornerstone investors, with potential purchases of up to an aggregate of $5 billion of the Class A common stock offering.

Meta aims to use the proceeds from these offerings to enhance its computing capacity and data center infrastructure. The company anticipates capital expenditures between $135 billion and $145 billion in 2026 and is set to nearly double its total infrastructure capacity this year.

Currently, Meta operates data centers across 23 US states and is constructing four superclusters, each with a capacity exceeding one gigawatt. In the third quarter of 2026, Meta reported a 26% increase in revenue year-over-year to $64.6 billion, with net income reaching $9.9 billion. The company generated $97 billion in operating cash flow during the first three quarters of 2026 and held approximately $82 billion in cash and marketable securities by the end of September.

As of September, Meta's applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp, were used daily by 3.64 billion people, while its Muse platform gained over 10 million users in the US and Canada.
