Amman: The Foreign Ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt have jointly condemned Israel's ongoing illegal settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territories and have rejected the E1 settlement plan and associated activities in East Jerusalem. They emphasized that these actions violate international law and United Nations resolutions, posing a threat to both regional and international peace and security. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the ministers expressed concern that the E1 plan would escalate settlement expansion, undermining the territorial integrity of the occupied Palestinian lands, particularly between the West Bank and East Jerusalem. They warned that this could threaten the viability of a future Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The ministers highlighted that these actions contradict international efforts to secure peace, including former President Donald Trump's pea ce plan, which rejected annexation and forced displacement. The ministers reiterated that a two-state solution, in line with international law and UN resolutions, is the only viable path to achieving lasting peace. They cautioned that any actions undermining this solution could escalate tensions and jeopardize peace prospects in the region. In support of accountability, the ministers backed international measures and sanctions against those responsible for illegal settlement activities, including the E1 plan. They called for the cessation of funding and support for these settlements, emphasizing that lack of accountability perpetuates violations and hinders peace efforts. The ministers urged immediate action to halt the E1 settlement plan and other activities altering the geographic and demographic character of the occupied territories. They called on the UN Security Council and relevant international bodies to enforce international law, protect Palestinian rights, and support the establishment of an indep endent Palestinian state.
