Chisinau: Chisinau announced on Tuesday that it will summon Russia's ambassador to Moldova over what it described as a violation of its airspace. A statement by the Moldovan Foreign Ministry said that it 'strongly condemned' the violation of its airspace by "several drones," including one which it said crashed in a locality in the country's northeastern Floresti district.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry stated, "Following these developments, the Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Federation will be summoned tomorrow at 2 p.m. (1200GMT) ... to provide explanations regarding these inadmissible actions." The statement emphasized Chisinau's commitment to maintaining regional peace and stability.

The Moldovan Defense Ministry separately reported that six drones were detected crossing into the country's airspace "without authorization" amid overnight Russian airstrikes in neighboring Ukraine. The ministry warned citizens against touching any fallen objects and urged them to inform authorities. "One of these fell on the roof of a house in the village of Cuhurestii de Jos, Floresti District," the statement detailed.

Earlier on Tuesday, Ukraine's Air Force claimed on Telegram that the country's air defenses shot down 438 out of 464 various types of drones, as well as 14 out of 22 different types of missiles, launched by Russia overnight. Russian authorities have not immediately commented on Moldova's statements.
