Moscow: The composition of the Russian delegation for the upcoming second round of peace talks with Ukraine in Istanbul on June 2 will remain unchanged, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday. Maria Zakharova, ministry spokeswoman, emphasized during a broadcast on the Rossiya-1 channel that the team led by Vladimir Medinsky will continue to represent Russia.

According to Anadolu Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov previously confirmed the meeting date and stated that Russia would present a memorandum outlining its stance on the root causes of the crisis in Ukraine. The previous round of talks, which took place on May 16 in Istanbul, concluded with a substantial prisoner exchange involving 1,000 detainees from each side and the agreement to prepare political documents for further negotiations.

Both Moscow and Kyiv have expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the May meeting, raising hopes that the June round may result in further progress toward a ceasefire.
