Moscow Mayor Labels Restaurant Explosion as ‘Terrorist Attack’

Moscow: Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin declared Sunday that the explosion at a restaurant in the Russian capital on Saturday was a "terrorist attack."

According to Anadolu Agency, Sobyanin used Russian social media platform Max to convey his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. He assured the public that law enforcement agencies were actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Sobyanin described the explosion as a "brutal terrorist attack" that resulted in the loss of lives. He stated that those injured were receiving medical care in city hospitals.

The mayor emphasized that law enforcement agencies are working diligently to uncover the details of the attack. He expressed confidence that those responsible for the crime would be apprehended and brought to justice.

The explosion resulted in at least five fatalities and numerous injuries when a woman detonated an explosive device while attempting to enter the restaurant, as reported by the latest media updates.
