Dallas: NBA star Kyrie Irving has stepped up to cover a fine imposed on Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair for displaying a personal message during an NFL game. On Wednesday, Irving announced on the social media platform X that he would pay the $11,492 fine Al-Shaair received for displaying the name of Hind Rajab, a slain Palestinian girl, on his eye black during a game against the Buffalo Bills.

According to Anadolu Agency, NFL regulations prohibit players from displaying unapproved personal messages, leading to Al-Shaair's fine. This isn't the first time Al-Shaair has used his platform to highlight issues in the Gaza Strip. In January, he was fined $11,593 during a playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers for displaying the message "Stop The Genocide."

Hind Rajab, the five-year-old girl whose name Al-Shaair displayed, was tragically killed along with six family members on January 29, 2024, in Gaza City. Their vehicle was reportedly struck by Israeli military fire, raising international concern and attention.
