Gaza: At least 61,827 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's ongoing war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Gaza-based Health Ministry reported on Friday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry's daily update revealed that 51 individuals were killed and 369 injured in the previous 24 hours, increasing the total number of injuries to 155,275 since the conflict began. The ministry also noted the death of a young girl from starvation and malnutrition, highlighting the severe impact of the Israeli blockade that has restricted food and medical supplies. The total number of starvation-related deaths has reached 240, including 107 children.

Civil defense teams face challenges in reaching victims due to continuous Israeli bombardment and a lack of rescue equipment. Since March 18, when Israel resumed its military operations after breaching a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement, 10,300 Palestinians have been killed and 43,234 injured, according to the ministry.

The Health Ministry further reported that Israeli forces continue to target Palestinians seeking humanitarian aid, with 17 killed and 250 wounded in the past day alone. Since May 27, 1,898 Palestinians have been killed and 14,113 injured while attempting to access aid.

The intensified Israeli siege, marked by the closure of all crossings since March, has led to a deep humanitarian crisis in Gaza, affecting its 2.4 million residents with famine, disease, and the breakdown of essential services.

In a related development, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
