Tel Aviv:Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized five opposition leaders on Saturday following their agreement to coordinate efforts to replace his government in the upcoming Knesset election.

According to Anadolu Agency, Netanyahu accused Yashar leader Gadi Eisenkot of planning to form a government with Yair Lapid, Yair Golan, Naftali Bennett, Avigdor Lieberman, and Arab parties. He emphasized on social media that only a strong Likud party could prevent such a coalition.

Netanyahu shared a digitally altered photo from the opposition meeting, adding United Arab List leader Mansour Abbas and Hadash-Ta'al leader Ahmad Tibi to the image. The original meeting, as reported by Israel's Channel 12, took place at Lapid's home in Tel Aviv and included Lapid of Yesh Atid, Eisenkot of Yashar, Bennett of Together, Lieberman of Yisrael Beiteinu, and Golan of the Democrats.

After the meeting, the five leaders released a document stating their shared priority to replace the current government, despite differing ideologies. They also agreed not to campaign against each other until a new government is formed and to work on increasing voter turnout and support for the opposition bloc. However, they did not settle on a candidate for prime minister.
