Ankara: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday evening called an urgent meeting with leaders of coalition parties, amidst reports suggesting its link to US communications about a potential agreement with Iran, as reported by Israeli media.

According to Anadolu Agency, Netanyahu requested the meeting to convene within an hour without disclosing its agenda to the participants. The newspaper indicated that the meeting is speculated to be connected to the ongoing conflict and US efforts to negotiate a possible deal with Iran.

Earlier on Monday, Netanyahu revealed in a recorded statement that he had a conversation with US President Donald Trump. Netanyahu mentioned that Trump sees an opportunity to reach an agreement with Iran to "protect our vital interests."

Since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive against Iran on February 28, the regional conflict has intensified, resulting in over 1,340 fatalities, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Tehran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries with US military bases, leading to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
