Grozny: Murtaza Karanfil, a seasoned Turkish businessman and chairman of Karanfil Group, has announced that a "new era of investment and development is beginning between Chechnya and Trkiye." "The steps we are taking today will directly contribute to the economies of both countries," Karanfil stated during an official visit to the Chechen Republic, a region in Russia's North Caucasus.
According to Anadolu Agency, Karanfil led a delegation from the Foreign Economic Relations Board's Trkiye-Libya Business Council during the visit. A statement released by the Karanfil Group on Friday detailed that the visit marks the beginning of a permanent, multidimensional economic cooperation process between Trkiye and Chechnya. The official report accompanying the visit emphasized that the goals set forth in the protocol would not only boost investment but also aid in regional development. It was noted that both parties are committed to maintaining mutual dialogue and coordination in future endeavors.
Karanfil expressed that the meetings held were productive, as they helped establish strong economic bridges between the two nations. The visit included direct business and investment discussions with seven Turkish companies in sectors such as construction, industry, tourism, and road safety. High-level Chechen authorities, including National Policy, Foreign Relations, Press and Information Minister Ahmed Dudayev, and Economic and Territorial Development Minister Rustam Shaptukaev, participated in the discussions. The focus of the talks was on joint ventures in areas like the production of concrete, asphalt, and various construction materials, laying the foundation for long-term cooperation.
The delegation also examined a new residential area named after Russian President Vladimir Putin, where technical talks were held regarding construction activities by Turkish companies in the region. An official meeting with Minister Shaptukaev concluded with the signing of a protocol aimed at elevating economic relations to an institutional level. Two primary goals were set in this protocol: establishing effective cooperation mechanisms between Trkiye's regional administrative bodies and Chechnya's executive institutions and business representatives, and opening regional representative offices in both Trkiye and Chechnya to ensure the sustainability of projects and accelerate joint initiatives.
