Tehran: New explosions were heard in the Iranian capital Tehran on Saturday, local media reported. Iran's Mehr news agency said sounds of explosions were heard in several areas of Tehran.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army announced the initiation of a new wave of attacks on Tehran and the city of Isfahan. More explosions were reported in the eastern part of the capital, as conveyed by the state-run broadcaster IRIB.

The Israeli army stated earlier that over 80 Israeli Air Force fighter jets executed additional strikes targeting infrastructure linked to the 'Iranian regime' in Tehran and other regions in central Iran. This development follows a period of escalating regional tensions after the joint US-Israeli airstrikes on Iran on February 28, which resulted in significant casualties, including the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, over 150 schoolgirls, and senior military officials.

The conflict has led to widespread instability in the region, prompting retaliatory attacks from Tehran against US-linked sites across the area.
