Stockholm: Top diplomats of New Zealand and five Nordic nations demanded unimpeded humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, New Zealand's Foreign Minister Winston Peters met with his counterparts from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden in Stockholm. Following their meeting, the group expressed their support for the Gaza ceasefire deal. A statement released after the meeting emphasized the importance of the agreement on the first phase of the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, as proposed by President Trump. The diplomats urged all parties to implement the agreement without delay and expressed their readiness to contribute to its implementation.

The ministers called on all involved parties to work towards a two-state solution and stressed the need for the safe and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid in compliance with international law. The ceasefire agreement, a 20-point plan brokered through regional and international mediation, took effect on October 10.

Additionally, the foreign ministers reaffirmed their support for the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court. They also backed reforms under the United Nations' UN80 initiative, aimed at strengthening global governance.

The ministers further committed to enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, innovation, aquaculture, and polar research, in preparation for the 2032-33 International Polar Year. They also reaffirmed their support for Pacific priorities as outlined in the 2050 Blue Pacific Strategy.
