Seoul: South Korea on Saturday reported that North Korea started to dismantle its propaganda loudspeakers, indicating an ease in tensions with Seoul. The Joint Chiefs of Staff stated that the removal is occurring in parts of the front-line area, although it cannot be verified if this action will extend to all border areas.

According to Anadolu Agency, North Korea's action comes after the South Korean military removed its propaganda loudspeakers installed along the border earlier this week, aiming to reduce inter-Korean tensions. This move was part of a broader initiative to improve ties between the two nations.

Nearly two months ago, South Korea's President Lee Jae Myung ordered the suspension of loudspeaker broadcasts in front-line areas. This directive was part of efforts to enhance relations with North Korea. Following South Korea's initiative, Pyongyang reciprocated by halting its broadcasts as well.
