Minsk: Pyongyang is ready to respond to any threat to the Eurasian continent, top diplomat Choe Son-hui said Tuesday, as North Korea attended an international security conference for the first time, according to the Belarusian state news agency Belta.

According to Anadolu Agency, Choe Son-hui made these remarks at the third Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security in Belarus. She highlighted North Korea’s preparedness to counteract threats and criticized NATO’s efforts to restrain Russia. Additionally, Choe accused South Korea, the US, and Japan of escalating regional tensions through their trilateral collaboration.

Choe expressed concerns over the current global security landscape, attributing instability to actions by the United States and noting the precarious situation on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia. She also pointed out that North Korea faces “various military exercises and actions targeting” the country, including scenarios involving nuclear weapons.

She emphasized the looming threat of nuclear conflict and the threat to the security of the Korean peninsula. Despite these challenges, Choe reiterated North Korea’s commitment to maintaining friendly relations with other nations, advocating for justice and independence, and contributing to the development of a multipolar world.

Choe’s remarks followed her visit to Moscow, where she met with President Vladimir Putin. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, indicating North Korea’s continued diplomatic engagement with Russia.
