North Macedonian Prime Minister Encourages Turkish Investments at Istanbul Forum

Istanbul: North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski extended an invitation to Turkish businesspeople to invest in North Macedonia, emphasizing the readiness of his country to collaborate in building a prosperous future. Speaking at the Trkiye-North Macedonia Business Forum, organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board's (DEIK) in Istanbul, Mickoski highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the two nations and the potential for economic cooperation.

According to Anadolu Agency, Mickoski noted the historical connection, mentioning that Trkiye was among the first countries to acknowledge North Macedonia's independence in 1991. He emphasized that over one million individuals in Trkiye have ancestral links to North Macedonia, underscoring the unique human connections between the countries. Mickoski urged these individuals to view North Macedonia as a land of opportunity.

Mickoski outlined North Macedonia's strategic geographical position as a gateway linking the Middle East, Trkiye, Southeast Europe, and the European continent. He invited Turkish firms to explore possibilities for establishing production facilities that integrate into the European supply chain, offering favorable conditions to access European markets.

The prime minister highlighted several reforms undertaken by his government aimed at enhancing the business environment, simplifying administrative procedures, and advancing the digitization of public services. Mickoski described North Macedonia as a stable and predictable business destination with a competitive edge in the Western Balkans region.

Acknowledging the presence of successful Turkish companies across various industries in North Macedonia, Mickoski assured potential investors of a familiar and supportive business ecosystem. He emphasized the availability of a young, educated workforce, a stable financial system, and advanced technological zones ready to accommodate foreign investments.

Mickoski revealed that the government, in partnership with the UN Development Program, formulated a National Development Strategy until 2044. This strategy targets 13 key growth areas, aiming to transform North Macedonia into a regional hub for production, logistics, modern technologies, and energy.

The prime minister stressed the government's commitment to fostering an economy driven by quality, innovation, and productivity. He invited Turkish businesspeople to leverage the strong political will and dynamic economic conditions in North Macedonia to forge a successful future together. Mickoski concluded by expressing the desire to establish long-term partnerships that generate value for both countries.
