Nvidia Shares Decline Following Trump’s Revenue-Sharing Deal Announcement

Washington: Shares of Nvidia closed in the red Monday following US President Donald Trump's confirmation that an agreement had been reached with the chip manufacturer to pay 15% of the revenue from 'H20' chips sold to China to the US government, The stock price of Nvidia fell 0.34% to $182.09. According to Anadolu Agency, Trump stated that he initially sought 20% of the revenue in exchange for approving the chip exports. However, he reached an agreement with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to lower the percentage to 15%. This agreement pertains specifically to Nvidia's existing 'H20' chip, which, despite being considered outdated, still has a viable market. Trump also mentioned Nvidia's new Blackwell chip, describing it as "the latest and best." He indicated that there would be no deal on this chip unless it was designed in a less advanced manner, although he is open to discussions. The US president plans to meet with Huang to further discuss the Blackwell chip. There is speculation of a similar agreement with AMD , as its share price also dropped by approximately 0.25%.
