Seoul: Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang stated that the demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure is continuing to surge, highlighting the growing need for coordination across the semiconductor supply chain. Speaking to reporters in Seoul, Huang emphasized the significant investments by governments, cloud providers, and businesses in AI systems, which are fueling the demand for advanced semiconductors and computing capacity.
According to Anadolu Agency, Huang noted that the previous year was substantial for Nvidia and that the market in Korea is performing well. He projected that the second half of the current year would surpass the first half in terms of growth, with expectations for even greater expansion in the following year. South Korea plays a vital role in Nvidia's supply chain, with companies like Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix providing high-bandwidth memory chips essential for AI processors.
Huang mentioned that his visit to South Korea included meetings with executives from major corporations such as Hyundai, LG, SK, and Samsung, highlighting the substantial business opportunities he brought to the region. He identified robotics as a significant growth area for South Korea, citing the country's strengths in manufacturing, semiconductors, and engineering.
He expressed confidence in South Korea as an ideal location for investing in research and development centers, noting the country's expertise in AI and robotics. AI-driven automation is anticipated to become increasingly significant in semiconductor manufacturing and industrial production. The Seoul visit follows Huang's recent trip to Taiwan, where he reinforced the island's role in the global AI supply chain and announced new partnerships and infrastructure initiatives to support future AI growth.
