Muscat: Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq met with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy in Muscat to discuss bilateral ties and regional and international developments. The meeting focused on strengthening historic and strategic relations between the two nations.
According to Anadolu Agency, the discussions covered a range of regional and international issues. Lammy was briefed on the Omani sultan's perspectives on key matters and expressed interest in efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and achieve regional peace.
The talks also involved discussions on nuclear negotiations between the US and Iran, with Oman playing a mediating role to reach an agreement on Tehran's nuclear program. Oman recently hosted a third round of nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington.
US President Donald Trump has previously threatened military action against Iran if a new nuclear agreement is not reached to replace the 2015 nuclear deal.
