OpenAI Accuses Former Employee of Taking Confidential Files to Apple

Baku:OpenAI has accused a former employee, who returned to Apple, of taking over 100 highly confidential files related to an unreleased device under development. The legal filing, submitted on Wednesday, claims these files included engineering and manufacturing data, supplier information, and internal project documents.

According to Anadolu Agency, OpenAI alleged that the former employee sent some of the files to himself shortly after midnight on June 2, marking the end of his six-month tenure at the company. This period followed his previous employment at Apple.

The filing further alleges that the former employee shared OpenAI's product plans with Apple executives, including a vice president of operations in Asia. OpenAI claimed that this information could have aided Apple in advancing its own AI-powered product plans, including smart home devices announced on Tuesday.

Apple has rejected these allegations, stating that it found no evidence supporting OpenAI's claims. The company also noted that OpenAI has not responded to its requests for more information to aid Apple's investigation. Additionally, Apple accused OpenAI of attempting to divert attention from evidence suggesting that Apple's own confidential information may have been taken by employees who joined the AI company.
