Ankara: Armed anti-regime groups in Syria have successfully captured 16 additional settlements in the western province of Hama. The opposition forces have been engaged in intense clashes with the regime forces of Bashar al-Assad over the past six days. The territorial gains include the strategic regional hub of Aleppo and areas extending south of the Idlib province towards regime-held Hama. According to Anadolu Agency, the developments in Syria have prompted a response from neighboring Trkiye. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized that Trkiye is closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary measures amid the renewed fighting between Assad regime forces and armed opposition groups. Erdogan reiterated Trkiye's commitment to preserving Syria's territorial integrity and expressed readiness to intervene if necessary to restore stability in the region. In a related development, Hezbollah has targeted an Israeli military base in Kfar Shouba as a preliminary defensive measure in response to what it desc ribes as Israel's repeated cease-fire violations. The Lebanese group cited multiple breaches, including attacks on civilians and violations of Lebanese airspace. Israel's Army Radio reported that Hezbollah fired two rockets toward the Har Dov area, which landed in open fields without causing injuries.
