Kuala lumpur: Malaysia has evacuated more than 4,600 people in the eastern province of Sabah due to worsening flood conditions. The State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat reported that the number of flood victims increased to 4,652 by Saturday evening.
According to Anadolu Agency, in another eastern state, Sarawak, 63 people have been moved to a relief center as precautionary measures continue. The Malaysian Meteorological Department had previously forecasted that humid conditions would persist in Sabah and Sarawak throughout the week, with rainfall expected in several areas due to the arrival of monsoon winds.
The evacuations highlight the ongoing challenges faced by these regions during the monsoon season, as authorities work to ensure the safety and well-being of affected residents.
