Munich: China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi has asserted that the key to resolving the Middle East issue lies in the implementation of the two-state solution. Wang communicated this stance during a meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany, the Foreign Ministry in Beijing reported.

According to Anadolu Agency, Wang Yi emphasized that the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza needs to be addressed urgently. He highlighted that the Palestinian issue is central to the Middle East conflict and proposed that implementing the two-state solution could enable peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel. This approach, Wang noted, would foster amicable interactions between Arabs and Jews.

Wang expressed that China is committed to upholding justice and intends to play a constructive role in achieving a comprehensive and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue. In terms of bilateral relations with Tel Aviv, Wang stated that China views its relationship with Israel from a long-term perspective and is prepared to collaborate with Israel to advance their innovative comprehensive partnership.

Currently, a ceasefire agreement, effective since January 19, has paused Israel's military operations in Gaza, which have resulted in over 48,200 Palestinian deaths, predominantly affecting women and children, and left the region devastated. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its actions in the enclave.
