Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Sunday that a proposal to relocate Palestinians to Egypt, Jordan, or any third country is "unacceptable." Erdogan expressed his disapproval of the plan during a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, as reported by the country's Communications Directorate.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan reaffirmed his stance against displacing Palestinians and discussed various bilateral, regional, and global issues with Macron. Regarding the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Erdogan emphasized Turkey's ongoing efforts to facilitate peace in the region. He highlighted Turkey's successful history of engaging both sides in negotiations and offered to host future peace talks.

Erdogan underscored the necessity of initiating a negotiation process that includes both Russia and Ukraine. The leaders also agreed to improve coordination as NATO allies, according to the Communications Directorate's statement.

In related developments, Macron shared on social media platform X that he had conversed with European leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, UK Prime Minister Keir Stammer, and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Macron emphasized the collective European commitment to restoring peace in Ukraine and enhancing European security through upcoming negotiations.
