Poland Unable to Supply Ukraine with Patriot Missiles, Says Foreign Minister

Warsaw:Poland has announced its inability to supply Ukraine with Patriot interceptor missiles, citing a lack of resources. Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski stated that other NATO members still have the capability to provide such missiles.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, Sikorski conveyed in an interview with the Polish news agency PAP that Poland cannot contribute to Ukraine's defense with Patriot missiles. He highlighted that the shortage was exacerbated following the US and Israel's attack on Iran in February, and noted that Russia is producing more missiles than Ukraine and its allies have the means to counter.

Sikorski emphasized Poland's support for Ukraine and urged countries possessing Patriot missiles to assist Ukraine by sharing their resources. He also mentioned the future discussions on reallocating Russia's frozen assets to Ukraine, although he did not foresee an agreement before winter.

Additionally, Sikorski expressed support for US President Donald Trump's efforts to end the war in Ukraine, while advocating for increased pressure on the aggressor rather than the victim. He also commented on British Prime Minister Andy Burnham's consideration of rejoining the European Union, labeling it as 'politically and intellectually important.' Sikorski criticized the misleading nature of the Brexit referendum and advocated for a closer relationship with the EU, highlighting the benefits of de facto membership.
