Sydney: Australian police on Thursday arrested seven men in Sydney on suspicion of "a violent act possibly being planned." Police said they had received information indicating a potential violent act, though they found no connection to the current investigation into the Bondi terrorist attack.

According to Anadolu Agency, police wearing camouflage fatigues and body armor, armed with long guns, were seen arresting, searching, and handcuffing the men in a video posted on social media. The footage showed the men's car being intercepted and rammed. One of the arrested men was also seen on a stretcher, with his face bloodied and his head bandaged.

New South Wales Police released a statement saying, "Tactical Operations police responded to information received that a violent act was possibly being planned." The statement added, "As investigations continue, seven men are assisting police with their inquiries."

Earlier on Sunday evening, a man and his son opened fire on a beach in Sydney, killing 15 people and injuring 42 others. Police described this incident as a "terrorist attack." One of the shooters was killed, while the other was critically injured and is currently receiving medical treatment in a hospital.
