Polish President Advocates for Enhanced Security Through Nuclear Potential

Warsaw: Polish President Karol Nawrocki has expressed his support for enhancing the nation's security through nuclear capabilities, urging commencement of related initiatives. In a recent interview with Polsat News, Nawrocki emphasized his strong backing for Poland's involvement in a nuclear project, highlighting the importance of pursuing this path while adhering to international regulations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Nawrocki stressed the urgency of action, given Poland's proximity to potential armed conflicts and the aggressive stance of the Russian Federation towards the country. He acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the feasibility of such a project but reiterated his support for bolstering Poland's security with nuclear potential.

Nawrocki also emphasized the longstanding relationship between Poland and the United States, referring to the US as a crucial ally. He warned against actions that could strain Poland-US relations or increase tensions between Europe and Washington within certain EU contexts.

Regarding his potential attendance at an upcoming Board of Peace meeting in Washington, Nawrocki stated that he has not yet decided. He noted that Poland's participation would be advantageous, allowing the country to represent the region's voice. His comments follow Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk's decision to abstain from joining President Donald Trump's Board of Peace, opting to evaluate the situation further.
