Washington:Prediction market platform Polymarket temporarily suspended trading on its international platform Thursday due to a security incident involving a third-party vendor.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the platform halted trading for approximately an hour after reports surfaced that funds had been drained from some cryptocurrency wallets, causing concern among its Discord community members.

Polymarket assured that affected users would receive full reimbursement, stating that anyone impacted by the incident "will be made whole." The company transitioned its international platform into cancel-only mode, allowing users to cancel existing transactions while preventing new trade orders.

The security breach involved DebugBear, a performance monitoring and debugging platform, as reported by a person familiar with the matter. Polymarket has reported the incident to authorities in the UK, where DebugBear is based.

DebugBear has acknowledged the security incident and is prioritizing the matter. They have engaged specialist cyber incident response support and will collaborate directly with affected customers.
