President and CBC Governor discuss Cypriot economy, interest rates

Issues related to the financial sector, among which the course of interest rates, as well as the Cypriot economy, were discussed at a meeting held by the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, with the Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC), Christodoulos Patsalides, on Tuesday afternoon at the Presidential Palace, in Nicosia, the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) learns. The meeting, which lasted about an hour, was also attended by the Deputy Minister to the President, Irene Piki, and the Director of the Office of the President of the Republic, Charalambos Charalambous. CNA also learnt that the Governor of the Central Bank informed the President of the Republic about European economic developments. In addition, issues of the wider financial sector were raised during the meeting, such as, among others, the course of interest rates, banks, the Cypriot economy, as well as other priorities set by the Central Bank of Cyprus.
