President Erdogan Congratulates Turkish Women’s Volleyball Team on Nations League Victory

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday congratulated the Trkiye women's national volleyball team after it defeated Brazil 3-1 in the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Nations League final to win the title.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan expressed his pride and joy over the team's victory, stating in a post on his NSosyal account, "I wholeheartedly congratulate our women's national volleyball team, which made all of Trkiye proud by achieving a great success, defeating Brazil in the Nations League final and becoming champions."

In addition to his public statement, President Erdogan personally extended his congratulations through a phone call to everyone who contributed to the national team's success, particularly highlighting the efforts of the players and coaching staff.

Trkiye's national women's volleyball team secured a victory over Brazil with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 26-24, and 25-21, clinching their second VNL title. The final match took place at the East Asian Games Dome in China's Macau Special Administrative Region, where Trkiye faced off against the world's second-ranked team, Brazil. This victory marks Trkiye's second triumph in the VNL, following their initial victory in 2023.
