Pro-Palestine Activists March to Israeli Embassy in Rome to Protest Gaza Genocide

Rome: Pro-Palestine activists marched to Israel's embassy in Rome on Tuesday to protest against "Israeli terror" and genocide in Gaza. The demonstrators voiced their dissent by shouting slogans such as "Stop the Israeli terror" and "Stop the genocide."

According to Anadolu Agency, the protesters expressed solidarity with Palestinians by chanting "We are all anti-Zionists, we are all Palestinians," "Zionist Israel is a terrorist state," and "Free Gaza, Free Palestine." Meanwhile, another protest took place in Milan's Piazza Duomo, where participants carried Palestinian flags and echoed the chant "Free Gaza."

Israel has faced international criticism for its ongoing offensive against Gaza, which began in October 2023. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of more than 55,400 Palestinians, the majority of whom were women and children. Despite calls for a ceasefire, Israel continues its operations in the enclave.

In a significant development last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its actions in the region.
