Dammam:A projectile reportedly fell near King Fahd International Airport in eastern Saudi Arabia late Saturday, as confirmed by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.
According to Anadolu Agency, the coalition's spokesman, Turki al-Maliki, announced the incident on the US social media platform X but did not provide further details. No casualties or damage have been reported.
This marks the first instance of a projectile landing near an airport in Dammam, the largest city in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, during the ongoing conflict involving Yemen's Houthis.
Earlier on Saturday, the airport temporarily suspended operations following an attack that injured several people. The General Civil Aviation Authority stated that operations were halted to assess damage and ensure the safety of the facilities.
